She has been awarded a special commendation in the “Ambassador of the Year” category of Cancer Research UK’s Flame of Hope Awards 2012 and she has contributed to an article about HIPEC in a national newspaper.

Cancer Research UK says that the category of “Ambassador of the Year” is to recognise volunteers who are outstanding advocates or ambassadors of the charity and have shown exceptional commitment and dedication. Dawn was nominated for her fantastic work both with the Cancer Campaigns team and the Patient Liaison team.

Dawn also helped a health writer who was putting together a piece about Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). The author been working with the Christie Hospital on the article but really want to speak with someone who has had the treatment who can explain what it is like.
