Andrew starts his mammoth walk today – starting at St Bees on the west coast and finishing on Saturday next week at Robin Hood Bay on the east coast. The Coast to Coast Walk uses public rights of way (public footpaths, tracks, and minor roads), permissive paths and access land; it is one of the most popular of all the long-distance footpaths in the UK. The walk was devised by Alfred Wainwright, walker and guide book writer, and at his suggestion is a 12 day walk. Andrew is planning to do it in just eight days!
