During the surgery to extract the fluid, the surgeon realised it was pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). At first, we were told that the plan was to go ahead with debulking surgery. However, after Donald had a second CT scan, and the disease was found to spread so the doctors advised chemotherapy for three months to shrink the tumours before making a decision whether to operate or not.

It feels like we’re only at the beginning of our story so it’s difficult to know what to expect. We rarely hear good things and we’ve learned to stay positive and strong. It’s the only way to survive!
