I was a bit nervous and did not know what to expect from my first half marathon.  Within 30 seconds of the start, a complete stranger shouted: “You got this Tim”… I was immediately hit by a huge wave of emotion that took me by surprise and gave me a huge boost.  The majority of people running had a story and a reason why. The supporters seemed to know that and added so much to the adventure. There was barely a moment for the whole race that I did not feel cheered on by the crowd. The support of the crowd and the other runners were such an inspiration.

Running my first half marathon was one of the proudest days of my life! Being nearly three years out of surgery I had decided to look after myself and get fit! I owed it to my body to look after it! I also owed a lot to Pseudomyxoma Survivor for all the support I have received. So it started with a 10K for the charity and then the half marathon. Not only did I have the best day with the most amazing atmosphere, but I also raised over a £1000 for the charity and I was interviewed by a radio station. That day I hoped I raised awareness, helped the charity and inspired others that there is a good life after (I hope) PMP!! Just go for it!!
