How we produce our information

What types of information to we produce?

Pseudomyxoma Survivor produces information for those affected by pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), appendix cancer and other peritoneal malignancies. Through our website, leaflets and other publications, we aim to help them feel more aware of the range of treatment options and support available so they can make informed decisions about their own care. We produce a range of information materials including pamphlets, posters and webpages that give information on how these diseases is diagnosed, treatment options and what support is available. Our intended audience is anyone wishing to find out basic information about pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) and appendix cancer be that those newly diagnosed, the general public, health professionals or students.

How we control the quality of our information

Pseudomyxoma Survivor uses the most accurate and up-to-date clinical evidence when producing new information and all our information is reviewed every year. We use reliable and trusted sources of literature and input from patients. We also have a Medical Advisory Panel who review our publications to make sure all scientific and medical information in any Pseudomyxoma Survivor publications is accurate and reflects up-to-date clinical practice. Pseudomyxoma Survivor also has a Patient Review Panel responsible for ensuring that our information meets the needs of our users and that they are easy to understand. The patient review panel is made up of people who all have personal experiences of PMP, as a patient, carer or family member.

How you can support us

Our Patient Review Panel is open to anyone affected by pseudomyxoma peritonei or other surface malignancies including patients, carers, family members and friends. Our Medical Advisory Panel is open to all health professionals involved in the care of people with PMP.
