In 2021, Kathryn’s struggle started when she was admitted to the hospital due to excruciating abdominal pain. The doctors informed her that her appendix had ruptured, and as a result, tumour cells that produced mucus had spread throughout her abdomen. She was diagnosed with pseudomyxoma periotonei (PMP).
