#AudreyHepburn

Audrey Hepburn was a beloved actress and humanitarian who is perhaps best known for her iconic roles in films like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Roman Holiday”. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1993 at the age of 63 from appendiceal cancer, which had spread to her abdominal cavity and caused pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). At the time of her diagnosis, PMP was a relatively unknown disease, and there were few treatment options available. Hepburn underwent several surgeries and chemotherapy treatments to try to manage the disease, but ultimately, her cancer was too advanced to be cured. Although her battle with PMP was brief and ultimately unsuccessful, Hepburn’s advocacy and legacy continue to inspire many people affected by the disease, and her memory remains a source of comfort and inspiration for fans and cancer patients alike.
