With my husband and I both working from home while also entertaining our 7 and 5-year-olds, our days have definitely filled out. I’m maintaining the children’s literacy and numeracy skills in particular and have spent half an hour on both each morning. Then we learn through play. We’ve completed Lego challenges, built with K’NEX, painted, carried out some drawing, coloured in, played board games.
Outside we’ve made use of our garden for football, our bouncy castle, swingball and dinners outside. We’ve also enjoyed family walks and cycles. I’ve most enjoyed lots of baking with the children. We’ve made cheesecake, mars bar cake, fairy cakes, doughnuts, scones, brownies, caramel cake, lots of soup and pastries. Some of these are included in the photos. They were as tasty as they look!
I’ve also planted some vegetable seeds for our Guinea Pigs eventually and turned two potting tables into mud kitchens for the children. How have you filled your days?
